Three paths into AI development
Each programme is structured around hands-on work — from writing your first Python functions to building and documenting a generative application. Choose a starting point that fits where you are today.
Foundations of AI Development
This programme starts from the ground up. Participants work through programming basics in Python, learn how data is collected and prepared, and apply core machine learning concepts through a series of small guided projects. No prior coding experience is assumed — each session builds directly on the one before it.
By the end, participants have written working code, handled real datasets, and built several small models — all explained at a level that makes the underlying logic clear rather than treating it as a black box.
- Python programming from basic syntax to data structures
- Data handling with pandas and NumPy
- Introduction to scikit-learn for supervised models
- Three guided mini-projects with written walkthroughs
- Peer review sessions at key milestones
Deep Learning & Neural Networks
A structured course focused on how neural networks are designed, assembled, and trained. Exercises grow in complexity week by week — starting with single-layer perceptrons and working toward convolutional and recurrent architectures. The emphasis throughout is on understanding what each component does, not just running pre-written notebooks.
Participants write, modify, and debug their own code at each stage, so by the end they can read network diagrams, adjust hyperparameters with some reasoning behind the choices, and interpret training curves.
- Neural network fundamentals — layers, weights, activation functions
- Training with backpropagation and gradient descent
- CNN and RNN architectures with practical coding exercises
- Model evaluation, overfitting, and regularisation techniques
- Framework-level work in PyTorch
Generative AI Project Studio
A project-based studio where participants plan, build, and document a small generative application from start to finish. The work is self-directed within a structured framework — each participant chooses a project scope, receives feedback at defined checkpoints, and produces both a working prototype and written documentation.
Topics covered include prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation patterns, API integration, and basic deployment considerations. The goal is a coherent, well-documented piece of work participants can explain and continue developing on their own.
- Scoping and planning a generative AI application
- Prompt design and iterative testing
- RAG patterns and context management basics
- API integration and lightweight deployment
- Project documentation and checkpoint reviews
